Question Backtest Results That Can Be Deceiving

The results of the backtest can sometimes look very good, only because the test period is carried out at a time when the price movement coincidentally match to the working pattern of the EA.

The following is an example of backtest results from an EA that has not been completed, but can display backtest results that look good.

 

The EA program above hasn't been completed, due to a poor reduction in equity.
As you see, the reduction in equity that is not good doesn't seem to decreasing the profit factor.

 

Good on backtest still not guarantee will good work on real trading
backtest usually used for first scanning to measure performance robot, then use on demo before real.

 

For long term use EA, BT on 1 day for a week, and BT for 1 whole week, repeat until a month
you will find more accurate result
